The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 SE 1st St., Gainesville). This meeting begins at 6 p.m.
The committee will take public comments in person only. The meeting can be viewed on Cox Channel 12, the AC TV app (Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku), or the county’s video-on-demand website.
Items for the Planning Commission Meeting:
Comprehensive Plan Amendment (Z25-000006) – This is a county-initiated text amendment to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan, Conservation and Open Space Element to enhance protections for certain types of trees and to revise policies related to the designation of Open Space within new developments. Comprehensive Plan Evaluation and Appraisal Process Overview Presentation – Staff will provide an overview of the upcoming statutorily required Evaluation and Appraisal of the Comprehensive Plan. No action will be taken by the Planning Commission, but information about the process and future steps will be presented.
