Due to current shelter demand and conditions in the county, Alachua County will combine our two general-population pet-friendly shelters and our special-needs shelter into one location beginning immediately.
The Newberry Archery Center and the Gainesville Senior Center are closed, and all those in need of general, pet-friendly, or special needs shelter should go to the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center (1028 NE 14th St., Gainesville).

To aid our residents, Alachua County has activated the 311 Emergency Information Line (352-264-6557 if 311 is unavailable in your area). This is for questions and rumor control. If you have a true emergency, call 911.
